About Liz

I always find myself dreaming of faraway places, people I have never met, and sights I have never seen. Traveling has become one of the biggest parts of my life and I created this blog so I can share my experiences and tips to inspire you to get out and explore what this beautiful planet has to offer.

I am a full-time luxury concierge and part-time travel blogger based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. My goal is to provide you with all the resources you need to travel to your bucket list destinations for an affordable price. I truly believe travel is for everyone and I am here to help you make your dreams a reality.

My Story

I was born in New Mexico but grew up primarily in Kansas with my mom, stepdad and three younger brothers. We would spend a lot of time outdoors and head to the Lake of the Ozarks for long weekends. During my free time, I raced in the Soap Box Derby, cheered on the Kansas City Chiefs (still do!) and was a member of an exclusive choir that allowed me to travel to a new place each year. Since my parents divorced when I was little, I would always go back and forth on flights and road trips spending time with my mom and dad’s families. Although divorce is a difficult thing, I ended up seeing the silver lining because this is where my appreciation of travel really began.

I would spend many summers and holidays with my dad in New Mexico and I actually ended up graduating high school in Rio Rancho where my dad taught at my high school! When I would visit my dad’s side of the family, we would frequently head to the mountains and stay at our cabin in Creede, Colorado. Some of my favorite memories were the 4th of July parades, playing card games, fishing the river, hiking, and playing volleyball in the backyard. One summer, we met this sweet old man who introduced us to rock hunting and a new passion of mine was ignited. Although he has since passed away, we hold on to what he taught us. We still go on hikes where we find natural gemstones like Amethyst, Turquoise, Fluorite, Jasper, and Opal. Seeing what the planet has created over millions of years is so special and that is where my hobby of creating gemstone jewelry and tiaras began.

After high school, I decided to attend Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas (go Cats). I originally went to school for journalism but I realized my heart wasn’t in it. One evening after classes, I printed off the list of majors offered and crossed them out one by one until I landed on Park Management and Conservation. This sparked my passion once again for learning more about the planet and specifically, our National Parks. I had incredible professors and finally found where I felt like I belonged. Halfway through my 5th year, I added on a secondary major of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences, and graduated in 2020 with two degrees.

Throughout my time at KSU, I traveled any chance I could to visit National Parks across the United States. My travels led me to places like Olympic National Park, Grand Teton National Park, and Yellowstone National Park, just to name a few. I even took a two-month road trip with some close friends up to Canada while camping out of my car along the way. That trip was the ultimate test of surviving in the outdoors and camping in a new location daily. One memory I will hold onto forever is when I hiked to Swiftcurrent Glacier inside Glacier National Park. This hike about killed me but after one breakdown on the way up, I made it to the top and the views did not disappoint. This gave me the confidence I needed and reminded me that I am stronger than I realize.

As a 2020 graduate, it was practically impossible to get a job when so many were laid off. My mom actually suggested I go back to working seasonal jobs which led me to moving to Wyoming, where I currently work as the lead concierge for a five star, luxury resort. It is so special to plan trips for all of our guests since I get to create their itinerary and help them make lifelong memories around Teton Valley, Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park. I took a true leap of faith accepting this job since I didn’t know a soul when I moved here. Over the last 4 years, I was able to meet incredible people and now have some of the best friends and the best boyfriend I could ask for. (You never know if you don’t go!)

One of the beautiful things about working in a ski town is that you get two off seasons each year for vacations! In the fall of 2022, I found out that the Yi Peng Lantern Festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand fell on my birthday. I knew I had to live my Tangled Disney princess dreams. Once I saw how expensive flights were, this single destination trip turned into an around the world in 32 days trip. I planned this trip and probably spent 50+ hours researching and figuring out the best places to go and stay for an affordable cost. This trip was exactly what I needed to inspire me to revamp my blog to what it is now. What started as just going to Thailand, turned into visiting Hawaii, New Zealand, Thailand, Greece and Portugal! This trip is something I will remember the rest of my life.

Although Wyoming is my current home, I know it won’t be forever. With my family and my boyfriends family spread out across the United States, I am working on finding the best new place to call home. The biggest reason why I created this website is to help other likeminded people travel the world. My ultimate goal is to run this website and own a travel company that will allow me to work remote so I can spend more time with my loved ones. If you are reading this, it means I am one step closer to achieving that dream. Thank you truly for being a part of my journey! I hope this blog inspires you.
